Busch’s is a privately held, independent supermarket chain based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Joe Busch and Charlie Mattis started the family venture in 1975 by acquiring two stores in Clinton and Saline from Vescio’s Foods and naming them J&C Family Foods. When Joe retired in 1986, sons Doug, John, and Tim took over and acquired or built our other stores.

Ranging in size from 26,000 to 51,000 square feet, our stores are either freestanding or anchored to neighborhood shopping centers. Busch’s is a Spartan wholesale affiliate and we currently employ about 1,400 associates. Our Central Kitchen, located in Clinton, is where we use only the finest ingredients to make our gourmet Deli and Bakery items.

Busch’s fresh deli, bakery, meat, seafood and produce departments are complemented by the variety found in our grocery aisles. Our great selection is matched only by our passion for hospitality. Recognized as an industry leader by Store Equipment and Design Magazine, we are constantly updating our stores to better serve our guests.
